Hi, I’m Kristen
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, psychotherapist, and facilitator offering body-based therapy for women. My work supports clients in building self-connection, insight, practical coping skills, and confidence through an integrative approach that blends talk therapy, movement, and mindfulness practices.
My Background
My lived experiences, education, and professional training have all shaped the therapist I am today.
Throughout my career, I have worked in higher education across program development, Student Affairs, and faculty roles. More recently, I have provided individual psychotherapy in private practice settings as well as in college counseling centers at the University of Detroit Mercy and the University of Michigan. I am continually inspired by active learning and therapeutic spaces that are responsive, collaborative, and innovative.
Ongoing learning is both an ethical responsibility and a personal passion of mine. I am committed to integrating contemporary, evidence-based practices that support my clients’ mental health and overall well-being. My specialized training includes yoga teaching (RYT-200), somatic psychotherapy approaches, and certification in The Art of Holding Perinatal Women in Distress™: Assessment, Treatment, & Advanced Clinical Practice through the Postpartum Stress Center LLC.
I strive to create a welcoming, affirming therapeutic environment where clients feel safe enough to be vulnerable and explore their experiences with honesty and care. I recognize the complexity of our intersecting social identities and lived experiences, and I approach my work through a multicultural, inclusive framework that honors each client’s unique story.
I embrace the following philosophies…
I believe that everyone is deserving of care and support to help with all aspects of life
I believe that you are capable of growth and healing
I believe that even if we feel like we've lost hope it's possible to show up, commit to ourselves, and do what it takes to start feeling more connected to the core of who we are

Our sessions are focused on you
Sessions will provide you with the safe space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. Therapy can often help with gaining more clarity and insight into patterns that are no longer serving you.
-
My style and approach to therapy
My approach is collaborative and interdisciplinary. I draw from cognitive and somatic interventions, often referred to as body-centered therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.
